MADE NEW 5K: LET'S CHANGE THE STORY
ABOUT MADE NEW 5K
Run for Blackbox International
Made New was started by Owen Weller and a small group of friends. Owen had attended an event put on by Christ in Youth called Believe the winter of his eighth-grade year. There, Owen was challenged to use his time, talents, and treasures to glorify God. As soon as he got home, he started praying about ways in which he could do just that. It wasn’t until the next winter when God showed him what his mission was. Owen heard many sermons and stories of how human trafficking is occurring all around the world and how we need to take a stand to stop it. And that is exactly what he and his team are working towards by putting on a 5K to raise money to support Blackbox International.
Made New 5K & Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at King Jack Park in Webb City, MO. The goal of this race is to bring awareness to the ministry of Blackbox International and human trafficking, not only internationally but locally as well. Another goal is to raise money to support Blackbox International and its mission to rescue young boys out of these terrible trafficking situations. The goal for Made New 5K & Mile Fun Run is to have 150 participants and to raise $3500 which will be put towards three pieces of Blackbox’s ministry, which are safety, love, and basic necessities.
